Traditional, Classy Avatar of the Ilankai Wedding

The Chennai’s iconic ITC Grand Chola, witnessed the traditional Srilankan (Ilankai) Wedding of Thlishana & Rajaselva, with a perfect setting and décor. The Lensmen from Zero Gravity Studios, had the opportunity to capture this serene and elegant Ilankai Wedding. No loud music or dance, but a conventional ceremony with customary rituals. A day filled with immense joy and happiness, reflecting in the smiles and eyes of the bride and the groom, family members and well-wishers, painted the wedding frames of the Ilankai Wedding.

A tall, fair, well-built and handsome Prince Rajaselva, the groom, dressed in a classic attire, decked with the floral garland and a royal turban, graced the wedding day to win the heart of his Princess Thlishana and all the loved ones. The Prince charming stepped in with an attire and an attitude of his own.

A warmth filled and a positive, happy smile on Princess Thlishana, was the most beautiful and expensive jewelry adorned. The stunning bride was decked up like a Queen of which we read in history books, with a traditional yellow and red color saree with intricate work of silver and golden threads. To choose and embellish herself with a contemporary set of jewels, contrasting the colors of the saree, was well thought decision of the bride.

A wedding day is shallow and colorless without them. Nothing is sweet or happy if they are absent. Yes! The wonders of Life – The Family, Friends and Well-Wishers. The irreplaceable threads of life. They make our THE DAY most memorable and colorful, just with their presence.

Arranged or Love marriage, a couple who is filled with love, happiness, hope and positivity in themselves, reflects in their eyes and actions. The first looks, the first touch, the first pose with each other during the wedding, amidst the hundreds of guests and the adrenaline rush of hormones – OMG! Those out of the world and once in lifetime emotions, are the amazing feeling, treasured for a lifetime.

The magic they shared with each other reflected in their eyes and gestures to each other. With little inputs from the photographers, the couple knew their way around the camera and created a world of their own. An atmosphere of love, romance, happiness and hope was created. They looked expressive and emotional at every angle.

Amidst the hustle bustle of the usual wedding shoots, it is very rare and fortunate moment to see and capture a royal and peaceful, yet perfectly traditional Ilankai type of a wedding event.
